The 100,000 m³ Very Large Ethane Carrier (VLEC) is a high-end liquefied gas transport vessel built by Yangtze River Xinfu Shipyard for SP Chemicals (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. The vessel is specifically designed for the long-distance and safe transportation of liquefied gases such as ethane, playing an important role in supporting the global energy logistics network. Equipped with high-efficiency cargo handling systems, energy-efficient propulsion, and the capability to operate under demanding marine conditions, the vessel represents a new generation of large-scale ethane carriers.

KAM played a key role in this project, undertaking full-process EPC services. The scope of work covered conceptual design, detailed engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, and final turnkey delivery. Leveraging its extensive EPC experience in ship interior engineering, KAM ensured full compliance with the stringent technical and safety standards required for international liquefied gas carriers. By focusing on functional layout, safety performance, and system integration stability, the project achieved high-quality execution, providing strong support for SP Chemicals’ global ethane transportation operations.
