3,500-ton Oceanographic Research Vessel

The 3,500-ton oceanographic research vessel is the first privately funded oceanographic research ship with unrestricted navigation capability, financed by a private enterprise through collective investment from Wenling fishermen. Designed for marine resource exploration, environmental monitoring, and scientific research, the vessel is capable of deep-sea operations and can carry a wide range of scientific instruments and exploration equipment. The project represents an important milestone in private sector participation in the development of advanced oceanographic research vessels. Construction commenced on March 17, 2025, with delivery scheduled for 2026.

As the EPC contractor, KAM provides end-to-end integrated services, including conceptual design, material procurement, interior outfitting works, system integration, commissioning, testing, and turnkey delivery. Tailored to the operational requirements of a privately owned research vessel and its unrestricted navigation capability, the interior design emphasizes corrosion resistance, vibration mitigation, and long-term durability. The layout optimizes the functionality of scientific research areas while ensuring comfortable crew accommodations. At the same time, the project ensures the stability and reliability of electrical and intelligent control systems, creating an efficient, practical, and safety-compliant offshore research platform.
