Chinese Academy of Sciences Xuehao 3 Research Vessel
In July 2023, KAM was awarded theinterior outfitting contract for the“Exploration III” research vessel, constructed by Guangzhou Shipyard International for the Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The vessel measures 89 meters in length, 17.8 meters in beam, and 8.2 meters in draft, and is designed for unrestricted global navigation. With a displacement of 5,600 tons and a range of approximately 26,000 kilometers, the vessel is capable of supporting a crew of 60 personnel for more than 80 days at sea without resupply.
Under this project, KAM was responsible for thepublic area interior package as well as the laboratory EPC turnkey contract. The public interior scope includes the bridge, conference room, dining hall, recreation room, and reading room. The laboratory package covers the design, supply, and installation of laboratory equipment and furniture, including the geophysical laboratory, chemical laboratory, biological laboratory, electromechanical laboratory, and the main laboratory.
