In March 2023, KAM secured the interior outfitting contract for the 1,600-ton self-elevating offshore wind turbine installation platform “Zhongtian 31,” constructed by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd.

The platform features a lifting capacity of 1,600 tons, with a main hull length of 138.5 meters and abeam of 50 meters. Designed for an operational water depth of 70 meters, it accommodates 120 personnel and is equipped with a five-deck accommodation superstructure.

Scheduled for commissioning in August 2023, this next-generation offshore wind installation platform—representing a total investment of approximately RMB 1.5 billion—will play an important role in supporting offshore wind farm development in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province, and across the South China Sea region.

During the design phase, KAM focused on creating comfortable and functional living spaces for offshore personnel, emphasizing simplicity, practicality, and comfort to ensure a pleasant onboard environment for long-term operations. The project demonstrates KAM’s capability in deliveringhigh-quality accommodation and interior solutions for large-scale offshore wind engineering vessels, contributing to the development of China’s offshore renewable energy industry.
