Guanghai Bureau's “Marine Geology II”

At the end of April 2022, the interior EPC turnkey projectfor the“Ocean Geology II” research vessel, undertaken by KAM, was successfully delivered at Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard in Guangdong. The vessel was constructed by Jiangmen Hangtong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CCCC Fourth Navigation Engineering Bureau, and is owned by the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey Bureau of the China Geological Survey. KAM was responsible for the EPC turnkey delivery of the vessel’s interior outfitting works.

KAM oversaw the construction and installation of key onboard spaces, including accommodations, premium suites, dining areas, conference rooms, laboratories, and other functional zones. Based on the vessel’s operational characteristics and mission requirements, the design solution carefully considered the living and working needs of scientific personnel operating in specialized offshore environments. Living areas were designed to provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere, while workspaces emphasize functionality, technological sophistication, and modern aesthetics.

Through the integration of modern interior design concepts, sustainable materials, and human-centered design principles, the project transformed the“Ocean Geology II” into a high-standard research vessel interior, demonstrating a balanced combination of functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility.
