The multi-functional semi-submersible vessel of the Shenyang Institute of Automation is an advanced intelligent and environmentally friendly marine engineering platform developed by the institute. Integrating three key capabilities—autonomous navigation, multi-mission operational support, and green propulsion—the vessel is designed for unrestricted navigation and can support a wide range of missions, including large-scale offshore cargo transportation, rocket recovery operations, and marine scientific research.

As the EPC contractor for the vessel’s interior outfitting, KAM will complete the full interior engineering works by theend of 2025. The project scope includes the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of key onboard spaces such as the control center, laboratories, crew accommodations, and operational support areas.

To meet the vessel’s requirements for intelligent operations and long-endurance missions, the interior design emphasizes corrosion resistance, vibration mitigation, and acoustic insulation, while optimizing spatial layout and operational efficiency. The design integrates scientific functionality with crew comfort, creating a safe, reliable, and highly adaptable internal environment to support the vessel’s roles in marine engineering operations and scientific research activities.
