45,000 DWT semi-submersible vessel

The “Sihang Yongxing” is the world’s largestwide-body, shallow-draft semi-submersible barge, with a deadweight tonnage of 45,000 DWT. Independently developed and designed by CCCC Fourth Navigation Engineering Bureau and constructed by Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard, this major offshore engineering vessel fills a critical gap in China’s fleet of ultra-large heavy-lift equipment designed for shallow ports and estuarine environments.

The vessel measures 164 meters in length, 65 meters in beam, and 10.2 meters in depth, with a deck area of approximately 11,000 square meters and a maximum submergence depth of 26.8 meters. Its innovative dual-mode semi-submersible and deck-barge configuration, combined with an intelligent ballast control system, enables versatile operations such as transporting subsea tunnel segments and installing offshore wind power equipment. The vessel integrates unrestricted navigation capability with shallow-water construction performance, providing strong support for large-scale offshore engineering projects.

As the EPC contractor for the vessel’s interior outfitting, KAM completed the full interior engineering works in 2023, including the integrated design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of key areas such as the tower operational zones and functional compartments. Tailored to the requirements of offshore heavy-equipment operations, the interior design emphasizes corrosion resistance, vibration mitigation, and operational functionality, while optimizing spatial layout and workflow efficiency.

The completed interior spaces provide a safe, reliable, and comfortable working and living environment for crew members, supporting the vessel’s role as a large-scale floating engineering platform for marine construction and offshore infrastructure projects.
