On December 27, 2023, KAM formally signed the contract for the first 8,600-car Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) project constructed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. This vessel represents Waigaoqiao Shipyard’s first PCTC construction project. The ship measures 199.9 meters in length with a beam of 40.4 meters and a design speed of 19 knots.

Under this contract, KAM is responsible for three major work packages, including interior outfitting, electrical systems, and refrigeration and ventilation systems. The electrical scope covers lighting, switches, sockets, connectors, and related installations, while the HVAC scope includes air diffusers, valves, silencers, and associated equipment.

All interior production design drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams are independently developed by KAM and submitted to the shipyard for technical approval. Preliminary engineering work has already commenced, with electrical and interior background engineering scheduled to start around July 2024.

The vessel includes 26 crew cabins, with shared crew facilities such as a recreation room, gymnasium, and dining hall. The interior design adopts a diverse and coordinated color scheme, featuring map-themed corridor wall graphics, color-coded door panels based on functional areas, and flooring materials harmonized with wall panel finishes, creating a visually distinctive and highly integrated interior environment.
