Aida Magic City, a domestically built large cruise ship

In October 2019, construction commenced on China’s first domestically built large cruise ship, H1508, involving KAM. The vessel measures 323.6 meters in length, 37.2 meters in beam, and has a maximum draft of 8.55 meters. It features 19 decks and can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers across 2,125 cabins. The total construction cost is estimated at RMB 5.4 billion, with delivery scheduled for the second half of 2023.

KAM is responsible for the electrical infrastructure works for the main stairways and restaurants, as well as the interior outfitting of 604 cabins, six restaurants, and the duty-free shop.

The shipbuilding industry is often regarded as having three “crown jewels”: LNG carriers, aircraft carriers, and large luxury cruise ships. China has already achieved significant progress in the first two segments. KAM will continue to align with the national cruise industry strategy, advancing its capabilities in luxury cruise construction and contributing to the development of domestically built world-class cruise ships.
